Everything was nice and clean. Reception staff were kind and civil, volunteer was especially kind. Information ahead of our appointment was comprehensive. On arriving, staff listened to our concerns and acted on them. Well done, Queens. Best wishes.

Suggested improvements
Nothing. Couldn't fault it. Except please could you issue penalties to those who insist on parking in the disabled car park but don't display badges.

The stroke team were with me before my blood pressure was even taken which was reassuring having had a previous stroke. It’s was so busy in A&E but sandwich and drink were offered

Suggested improvements
It was standing room only I was in the fit to sit area and 5 people were not patients and were sitting on chairs while patients were on hard plastic chairs, I was on my own and observed this but appreciate how busy it was

Review of Queen’s - Accident & Emergency

I was brought in by ambulance and had blood tests but then the care ended. I was wheeled to another part of the A and E with no explanation, no idea of wait time. Many others waited on uncomfortable chairs in corridors. No idea when we would be seen. It became apparent that department had simply shut down for the night. No one was getting any care, compassion or consideration. I was feeling too unwell to sit upright in an uncomfortable chair for endless hours as it would only make my condition worse so I took control of my own wellbeing and discharged myself. I saw my own GP the following Monday and she gave me blood results. Why are there no beds to lay on for sick patients. No privacy. No information.

Suggested improvements
Provide information board with waiting times. Provide enough beds or comfortable chairs for unwell patients. Change the name to non-emergency room as no one gets emergency treatment. Prioritise the elderly. My 90 year old.mother with Colon cancer was left sitting on a hard chair in the corridor just a few months ago for 12 hours in massive discomfort.

Staff were all amazing and doing their best in a bad situation. Hospital is overwhelmed with patients some of which could be health centre/GP sorted but they are probably struggling to get an appointment and put more pressure on A&E

Suggested improvements
Your medical staff couldn’t do anything better. Cleaning staff need to check soap in toilets not just bins and toilet roll!

Following a conversation with my IBD, I was told I should be admitted to the gastroenterology ward but would need to go to A&E and they would contact the ward. It took 21 hours from the mini arrived, until I was on the ward. Staff I initially spoke to did not seem sure about the system and so could not actually advise why everything was taking so long. I did later learn that I had to go through the same triage system as a patient who wasn’t expected. This put a lot of pressure on staff who were clearly run off their feet.

Suggested improvements
Make sure all staff know the system, however, it seems crazy that I had to go through A&E to get onto a ward where I was expected and there was a bed for me. I’m aware too that others had been waiting even longer in A&E. therefore, have a different process for admitting patients who are expected. This will be better for them, the staff and all other patients who’d turned up to A&E.
